This is a common misconception with low carb and keto diets – that they have to mean high protein – and they shouldn’t be. If you keep your protein in check, it shouldn’t be an issue. But, I would definitely consult with your doctor since you have had issues with this.
There’s a lot of confusing with Low carb dieting. I did strict keto for 6 weeks back in April and lost 2 inches off my waist which was my goal but found the diet too restrictive so am slowely getting into low carb but am concerned I’ll gain the wieght back. So if I eat enough carbs to not be in a ketogenic state, but not much more than that, thanwhat happens after my body’s used up all the energy from the consumed carbs? Will it then seek fuel from stored fat again – does this mean you could be in and out of keto daily?

Here’s my personal tip for keeping Keto meal prep really simple that works for me: I often do not have time or energy to devote to recipes for every meal, so I have BPC (Bullet-Proof Coffee, or Tea) for breakfast; then, for lunch, I’ll use leftovers from the previous evening’s dinner, utilizing all of the breakfast and lunch recipes in your 7-day plan for dinners instead, which triples my dinner options! 21 dinners! At times, there may be no leftovers for the next day’s lunch, in which case, I will usually have salad ingredients prepped and include low-carb/healthy fat options like avocado, nuts, olives, cheese, egg, fish, or meat.
I’ve been LCHF Ketogenic for 1 year I’m at my natural weight, but had to face the doc today re-chol, fasting glucose 4.8 good, HDL 1.09 good, trig 1.75 ok LDL 8.91 shock horror, total cholesterol 10.8 shock horror. There is much evidence suggesting that people with the metabolic syndrome suffer from carbohydrate intolerance, a phenomenon that is associated with high levels of insulin and insulin resistance. This implies an exaggerated glucose and insulin response to a given amount of carbohydrate ingested. Glucose uptake by muscles may be impaired which may help divert ingested carbohydrate to the liver where it is converted to fat. This may lead to elevated triglycerides and other lipid problems.

This is a typical lipid response to a low carb high fat diet. TG going town and HDL going up is clearly positive. Normally a slight elevation of LDL-C is not a cause for concern. I would suggest you check your lipids on 3-6 months. If there is further elevation of LDL-C you might try to reduce the relative contribution of saturated fat in your diet and use other fats instead, olive oil instead of butter etc.
Focus on fresh low-carb foods: Even if you don’t eat sugary and starchy foods, you may still be consuming ingredients that can cause skin issues. Bologna and other processed meats often contain sugar, corn syrup, fillers or other additives that raise insulin levels and potentially provoke inflammation. Stick to fresh food whenever possible, and read labels on processed meats and other packaged foods.
Insulin is a hormone that lets your body use or store sugar as fuel. Ketogenic diets make you burn through this fuel quickly, so you don’t need to store it. This means your body needs -- and makes -- less insulin. Those lower levels may help protect you against some kinds of cancer or even slow the growth of cancer cells. More research is needed on this, though.
Maintain a moderate protein intake. A keto diet is not meant to be a very-high-protein diet. We recommend 1.2 to 1.7 grams of protein per kg of reference body weight per day. This means about 100 grams of protein per day if your lean body mass weight is around 70 kilos (155 pounds).
